Instructions for getting to Auckland Zoo

Auckland Zoo is located just west of Downtown Auckland in beautiful Western Springs Reserve along with the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT). Auckland's first electric tram, number 11, provides a link between both attractions. Auckland Zoo is well signposted both east and west bound on the North Western Motorway.

From the City (westbound)

Take the Northwestern motorway then exit at the offramp marked Zoo/MOTAT. Turn right over the motorway, left onto Great North Road and then first right onto Motions Road.

From the South (northbound)

From the Southern Motorway take the Helensville/Waitakere exit to join the Northwestern motorway. Exit at the offramp marked Zoo/MOTAT. Turn right over the motorway, left onto Great North Road and then first right onto Motions Road.

From the West (eastbound)

Take the North Western Motorway toward the city and exit at the Point Chevalier offramp. Travel citybound along Great North Road and turn left into Motions Road.

From the North (southbound)

After crossing the Harbour Bridge exit at Cook Street, turn right onto Hobson St and join the North Western Motorway. Exit at the offramp marked Zoo/MOTAT. Turn right over the motorway, left onto Great North Road and first right onto Motions Road.
